The 12th Saronic Chamber Music Festival

We are delighted to announce the dates for the 12th Saronic Chamber Music Festival, which will run from the 25th to the 30th of August, 2024. Much loved artists, Bogdan Bozovic, Julian Arp and Katharine Gowers will all be returning after many previous appearances, and we will be joined for the first time by the amazing Danish pianist, Kristoffer Hyldig, performing hot on the heels of his critically-acclaimed recording of Messiaen’s Vingt Regards sur l’enfant Jesus, released in 2023.

Foccused on mature works of Antonin Dvořák, the festival will also present works of Haydn, Brahms, Shostakovich, Glazunov and Bartók. Julian Arp will be performing a beautiful set of three short pieces by the French female conductor and composer, Nadia Boulanger, one of the first great female conductors of the 20th Century.

The Festival is also very excited to be collaborating with the wonderful new cultural centre in Poros, Katheti. The upstairs balcony room there, open to the sea, is an ideal venue for chamber music. Our closing concert there on the 30th of August will be a real highlight of this year’s festival.

We are also offering to the general public for the first time the opportunity to attend a soirée evening at Villa Kalyvas, Plaka. This is the villa which has hosted the festival musicans since its founding year, and this is a unique opportunity to see a concert in a beautiful house, with balcony seats and an incredible view! Drinks will be served with some light refreshments and we will provide a return boat from Poros for anyone travelling from there. There are limited tickerts available for this event, so book well in advance if you don’t want to miss out!

Finally, we will be performing once again at the amazing amphitheatre overlooking the Methana volcano, as well as a free concert for all the community at the high school in Galatas.

We hope there is a concert for everyone, and we look forward to making music for you!
